Ukrainian drivers have been warned about a new requirement from Moldovan border guards. Now, they must provide another document to cross the border.
Each country has a list of rules for people who want to cross the border. And they must be followed to avoid problems at customs. Thus, in Moldova there have been changes in a number of conditions for drivers trying to enter the country. This was reported by the State Border Service of Ukraine.
The department's press service warned about a new requirement - the presence of a certificate of vehicle inspection.
“Changes in the rules of entry into the Republic of Moldova. A rule has come into force that obliges drivers to have valid vehicle inspection certificates with them when entering the territory of their state (a requirement of the Road Traffic Rules approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Moldova dated 13.05.2009 No. 357),” the State Traffic Safety Administration said in a statement.
It is noted that in the absence of this certificate, the customs officers of the Republic of Moldova will refuse to allow passage to their territory. Therefore, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine recommended that Ukrainian drivers planning to travel to Moldovan cities by personal transport take into account the new rules in advance and prepare all necessary documents.
It is worth noting that Moldova and Ukraine have a visa-free regime. In this regard, Ukrainians can cross the border with a biometric or regular passport, without the need to apply for a visa. But it is also important to comply with customs rules for the transportation of goods. For example, prescription drugs, weapons, meat and dairy products, tree seedlings, seeds and toxic substances are prohibited.
