Musk spoke at an AfD rally
Trump's ally criticized the current German government and advised the far-right party to fight it and also to be proud that they are Germans.
On Saturday, January 25, American billionaire Elon Musk spoke via video link at a rally to launch the election campaign of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party and called for "fight, fight, fight," Die Zeit reports.
Musk said he believes the party is “the best choice for Germany,” and that AfD leader Alice Weidel would be very useful to Germany as chancellor. Musk stressed that the party has his full support and, he believes, the support of the Trump administration.
At the same time, Musk criticized the German government, which, in his opinion, is not interested in "the well-being of Germany" and "aggressively suppresses freedom of speech." Therefore, the AfD, according to Musk, must "fight, fight, fight."
He also stated that "it's normal to be proud to be German."
"German culture is thousands of years old. Even the Roman emperor Julius Caesar was impressed by the fighting spirit of the Germanic tribes," Musk said.
He noted that "too much emphasis is placed on past guilt" and that we should leave it behind. Children should not be guilty of the sins of their great-grandfathers, he said.
