The head of the Alternative for Germany faction in the Bavarian state parliament, Katrin Ebner-Steiner, said that Ukrainian refugees should be immediately deported from the country. According to her, Ukrainian citizens should return home “right now,” writes Süddeutsche Zeitung, citing the words of its correspondent.
Ebner-Steiner added that Ukraine is a large country with “enough territory” to return to. She estimated that up to 2 million people could be deported from Germany in total.
In addition, Ebner-Steiner called for “large-scale re-emigration” so that Bavaria would not be “flooded with welfare recipients who do not want to integrate.” She also advocated introducing a “refugee emergency” in the region to deny them placement.
At the same time, DW recalled that on January 15, a debate was held in which Stefan Prochka, a member of the Bundestag and head of the Bavarian branch of the AfD, took part. During his speech, he stated that his party was calling for the deportation of “a million” migrants.
"When asked how this is planned to be done, the politician replied that Syria and Afghanistan are countries that have already "reconciled," so "1,2 to 1,3 million Syrians" and "700 thousand Afghans" could leave Germany. The politician added that there are also "Ukrainians in Germany who cannot be here," DW noted.
