It is this plant that has essential oils, which include thujone, camphor and alkaloids, which are toxic to some types of pests. The sharp smell of tansy is not to the liking of the Colorado beetle, copperhead, cabbage whitefly, onion mousse, weevil and even ticks.
This flower is perennial, so it should be planted around the perimeter of the site. However, there are wild subspecies (smaller inflorescences) that grow like weeds, so just don't pull them out to "help" preserve the harvest every year.
In particular, note that tansy has merit in the fight against the Colorado potato beetle. It is enough to plant tansy between the rows so that you don't have to think about seasonal treatment against beetle infestation.
In addition, spraying with a liquid based on the infusion of fresh tansy effectively helps when the young beetle eats the stems.
