In this article, we will share an effective way to whiten tulle if it has acquired a yellowish or gray tint. This is especially true for tulle that hangs on a window that is frequently opened, as the material quickly accumulates dust and dirt.
If the tulle has not been washed for a long time and has become dusty, the material loses its softness and lightness. Before the main wash, it is recommended to soak it in cold water to get rid of dust. To do this, fill a basin or bathtub with water at a temperature of about 30°C. The water should not be ice cold or hot. Soak the tulle for half an hour, and then knead it a little with your hands so that the dirt begins to come off. You will immediately notice how dirty the water has become after the first soak.

The next step is to soak the tulle in a baking soda solution. In a basin with five liters of cool water, add five tablespoons of baking soda - one tablespoon per liter of water. Soak the tulle in this solution for one hour. Then remove it and rinse it in cool water. The water will become dirty again, as the baking soda helps to pull out the remaining dirt from the fabric fibers.
Pour water up to 30°C into the washing machine, add detergent or drop in the capsule. Load the tulle and start a delicate wash without spinning. After the wash cycle, remove the tulle and hang it to dry - you can immediately on the cornice, laying a cloth under it to catch water drops.

Once dry, the tulle will become snow-white, soft and will restore its aesthetic appearance. Such care will ensure the fabric's long service life and impeccable appearance.
