Dmitry Peskov responded to the statement of candidate for the position of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that during the upcoming negotiations to end the war in Ukraine, diplomatic concessions will be required from both sides - Kyiv and Moscow.

Russia's negotiating position on the settlement of the war in Ukraine was formulated by Volodymyr Putin in June 2024. Moscow does not plan to make concessions. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Russian media reported on Thursday, January 16.

"The fact is that our position on such a settlement was clearly formulated by the 'president'. We proceed from this position. This position was formulated in June last year during the head of state's speech to the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," Peskov said.

According to him, this position of Russia is "consistent, extremely clear and well known to everyone."
