Iodine is an important trace element for all living things. Its deficiency affects not only human health, but also plants. It is active against fungal diseases of garden crops.
Details
Plants need this trace element for good development and good ovary formation. Podzolic, peaty soils usually lack iodine. Experienced gardeners advise watering seedlings of peppers, eggplants, cabbage, cucumbers and tomatoes with a solution of iodine in water to prevent the development of fungal diseases and nourish the plant.
Solution against late blight: for 10 liters of water, take 15 drops of iodine and add 1 liter of milk. Treat the plant 2-3 times, the interval should be at least 2 weeks.
If a vegetable crop or flower in a flower bed is affected by powdery mildew, then you need to prepare another solution. To do this, you will need 1 liter of low-fat milk, 9 liters of water and 1 ml of iodine. You can also add 1 tablespoon of liquid soap.
