The initiative is an important step in recognizing the common threats faced by both countries, notes the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel.
Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel, during a meeting with Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk on Tuesday, January 21, offered to hand over to the Ukrainian side Russian weapons captured by IDF soldiers. The press service of the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel reported this on Facebook.
"During the meeting, the Ambassador thanked the interlocutor for her proposal to transfer to Ukraine Russian-made weapons captured by the IDF in Lebanon or anywhere from Israel's enemies. It was noted that this initiative is an important step in recognizing the common threats faced by both countries. The Ukrainian side expressed hope for a positive resolution of this issue," the report says.
The parties discussed current common challenges for both countries, in particular the military cooperation between Iran and Russia, which poses a threat to the national security of both Ukraine and Israel.
