Trump announced that his inauguration would be held indoors, in the Capitol rotunda. He cited the cold weather in Washington as the reason for his decision.
According to the US president-elect, he doesn't want anyone to get hurt due to hypothermia.
"These (weather) conditions pose a danger to tens of thousands of law enforcement officers, emergency responders, police dogs and even horses, as well as hundreds of thousands of my supporters who will spend many hours (consecutively) on the streets on the 20th," he said.
Trump added that Reagan's inauguration was held in the Capitol rotunda in 1985.
According to CNN, on January 20, the day Trump comes to power in the United States, a frost of -20 °C is expected in Washington.
