At CES in Las Vegas, Hyundai Mobis unveiled what it calls the world's first "Holographic Windshield Display," showcasing this cutting-edge technology within Hyundai.

The holographic screen is actually three main displays spanning the entire width of the windshield: two for the driver to display important vehicle or travel information, such as directions, infotainment, and safety alerts, and a third for the front passenger. The passenger screen can be used to mirror video streaming or gaming, and neither display is visible to other passengers.

The system uses a special optical film that allows for a large amount of information to be displayed without obstructing the view of the road. The brand said it plans to begin mass production of the technology by 2027.

In addition to this display, Mobis also unveiled a few other developments at the event. First, it introduced a human-centric interior lighting system that intelligently adapts to the user’s needs with 32 modes that respond to “biological rhythms, health status and the vehicle’s environment.” The technology also changes the door insert lighting from green to yellow and then to red as a warning if you’re approaching an obstacle when opening the door.

The third development is M.Brain, a system that uses an earphone to measure a driver’s brain waves and assess their stress and concentration levels. It provides prompts if it detects inattention or drowsiness, and can also take action such as vibrating the seats, changing the lighting, or playing more energetic music.
