Very soon the question will arise, what to feed cucumbers for a good harvest. Do not rush to stock up on store fertilizers. You will always have time to buy them. You can use proven methods from available components. You can use both when growing in greenhouses and in open ground.

Fertilizers for cucumbers

Experienced gardeners use regular milk. It is rich in potassium and also saturates cucumbers with a number of trace elements: phosphorus, sulfur, calcium, iron, manganese. In addition, the milky film that forms on the plant after treatment protects against pests and diseases.

To feed, you simply need to dilute the milk with water. The ratio is 1:5. But you don’t need to water cucumbers with milk in its pure form.

Follow the fertilizer application period. The treatment is done before fruiting. Spraying will be enough. But you should not water under the root, because cucumbers are prone to root rot.

If you want to water, then do it as follows. At a distance of 10-15 cm from the stem, make a shallow trench and pour the solution into it. You can enhance the effect with another remedy. Add a few drops of iodine to the solution with milk.
