The Ministry of Health has added more than 50 drugs to the "Affordable Medicines" program, which can be obtained free of charge or with a small surcharge. You can buy medicines from January 1. In addition, some drugs for children were also added to the list, including a first-line antibiotic.
From January 1, 2025, the order of the Ministry of Health, according to which the list of medicinal products that are subject to reimbursement under the program of state guarantees of medical care for the population, has been approved, will enter into force, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection reported on Wednesday, January 1.
"The list includes 52 new drugs, in particular 23 items of combined drugs, and 21 drugs from the general list are free. These are drugs for the treatment of pain, palliative care, treatment of diseases of the endocrine system, metabolic, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, glaucoma, migraine, diseases in children, as well as combined drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases., the message says.
The new drugs included in the list are Metoclopramide, Loperamide, Propranolol, Cabergoline, Prednisolone, Penicillamine, Allopurinol, Sumatriptan, Pyridostigmine, Metronidazole, Acetazolamide, Lisinopril with Hydrochlorothiazide, Telmisartan with Hydrochlorothiazide and Telmisartan with Amlodipine. These drugs are from different manufacturers, which also depends on whether consumers will be able to get them for free or with a small surcharge.
Let us add that the government has earmarked ₴2025 billion for the Medical Guarantee Program in 175,5. Also, from January 1, through the "Affordable Medicines" program, it will be possible to get a number of medicines for children for free or with a small surcharge, in particular, a first-line antibiotic.
