Portuguese MP from the far-right Chega! party, Miguel Arruda, was caught up in a scandal after the media exposed him stealing suitcases at airports and allegedly selling their contents online.
About this, as reported European Truth, says the AFP agency publication.

Portuguese media reported the day before that police questioned Arruda at Lisbon airport and accused him of luggage theft after some of the missing suitcases were allegedly found at his home.
It is alleged that law enforcement officers have surveillance camera footage that allegedly shows Arruda removing his suitcase and a second, smaller one from the baggage carousel, and then allegedly placing the second suitcase in his own.
Some media outlets claim that Arruda may have been selling the contents of the stolen suitcases online.
The MP himself, commenting on the accusations, said the day before that he was being "publicly crucified," and that the video footage from surveillance cameras could have been generated by artificial intelligence.
At a meeting of the Portuguese parliament on Friday, Arruda was booed by his own colleagues from Chega!, and the politician himself announced his departure from the party and filed a petition to lift his immunity.
The Portuguese prosecutor's office confirmed to AFP that "measures were taken within the framework of the investigation... regarding facts that have nothing to do with his (Arruda. - Ed.) official duties."
