A prototype of BMW's new electric car is being tested in Sweden. This time, a camouflaged copy of the upcoming M3 EV (or i3 M) has been caught on camera.

Despite the significant camouflage, it can be said that the car is very similar to the Vision Neue Klasse concept. In particular, a wide “grille” is visible in front, framed by arrow-shaped headlights. A little lower you can see a wide air intake. To reduce air resistance, the door handles have been made retractable. Another interesting feature of the new product is the widened wings, which indicates a wider track than the basic version of the i3. This is reported by Autocenter.

The interior of the new model is expected to feature the innovative Panoramic iDrive instrument cluster, a prototype of which was presented at the recent CES-2025 consumer electronics exhibition in Las Vegas. It is equipped with a large display from pillar to pillar, located at the base of the windshield. The display is divided into three sections, and the one directly in front of the driver acts as a digital instrument cluster. The other sections are customizable and can accommodate up to six widgets that show everything from the weather to the G-Meter load sensor.

According to preliminary information, the new sports electric car from the M division will receive a power unit with four compact electric motors, which was previously tested on prototypes based on the i4. The M3 EV is expected to have around 522 kW/710 hp in its arsenal.
