A new poll of Americans shows that most of them share Donald Trump's views on the country's problems and their possible solutions. The poll was conducted by the Ipsos public opinion research institute on behalf of the New York Times.
Most respondents believe that too much money is being sent to Ukraine. 60% call on the US to get less involved in international conflicts and do more to solve problems at home.
More than half of those surveyed (55%) want Trump to fulfill his toughest promise – the mass deportation of all illegal immigrants.
An overwhelming majority (87%) support Trump's plan to immediately deport criminals from among illegal immigrants. Trump previously announced that he would implement these measures on his second day in office.
Nearly two-thirds of Americans (including 54% of Latinos and 44% of Democratic voters) believe that illegal immigrants who entered the country in the last four years under Biden should be deported.
In 2022, there were 11 million illegal immigrants living in the United States. Current estimates suggest that number could reach 13-14 million.
46% of respondents support increasing tariffs on foreign goods. 71% of Americans want to see children under 18 no longer prescribed hormone drugs. Trump and the Republicans have made this controversial issue a centerpiece of their election campaign.
