Astronauts NASA Nick Hague and Sunita Williams performed a scheduled spacewalk aboard the ISS on January 16, 2025, to perform repairs and install new equipment on the station's outer surface.
This spacewalk was the first for Americans in 14 months. Two planned spacewalks in the summer of 2024 were aborted due to spacesuit problems.
Hague and Williams successfully completed their tasks: they repaired the X-ray telescope NICE, which had damaged light filters in May 2023, and replaced the reflector on one of the ISS docking stations.
