Earth and plants
Sand from the street and earth for indoor plants are clearly unequal opponents for your vacuum cleaner. The force of pressure and the mass of the brush, most likely, will simply drive the soil deeper into the carpet and pollute it even more. And the leaves of indoor plants can break the equipment and add new pollution.
If a pot with geraniums is broken, take a scoop and a brush to hand, and leave the vacuum cleaner with fine dust.
Glass and ceramics
Picking up small fragments of glass with a vacuum cleaner is also a bad idea, it can damage the equipment. A small shard of glass can get stuck in a hose or engine, tear the dust bag.
Therefore, it is best to clean the floor from debris with a brush, and then to be safe, wipe the surface with a damp cloth. You can also stick a strip of wide tape - small particles of glass will remain on it.

Home appliance stores have positions designed specifically for collecting liquids and wet waste, such as coffee grounds. But if you have an ordinary vacuum cleaner, these tasks may be too much for it.
Liquid debris can easily clog the vacuum tube and block the filter. At the same time, the liquid will immediately turn the contents of the dust collector into a wet slurry. Getting water into an electrical appliance can also cause malfunctions and breakdowns.
