After a hearty New Year's holiday, fried food in the diet should be reduced to a minimum or even temporarily abandoned. Its consumption is associated with very unpleasant changes in the body: weight gain, heart and brain disorders, diabetes, acne, etc.
In special cases, it is quite acceptable to eat something fried. Fried food is delicious and acts as an antidepressant, as it promotes the production of hormones that ensure a good mood.
However, the daily presence of fried foods in a person's diet is extremely undesirable. Here are at least six reasons to stop eating such food.
Bloating, pain and diarrhea. Among macronutrients - carbohydrates, fats and proteins - fat is digested the slowest. Because fried foods contain a large amount of fat, they slow down the emptying of the stomach. Staying in it, food can cause bloating, nausea and pain. In the presence of irritable bowel syndrome, chronic pancreatitis, fried foods can provoke particularly painful and unpleasant symptoms, for example, spasms, diarrhea.
Disruption of the intestinal microbiome. Frequent consumption of fried foods can damage the gut microbiome, increasing the number of unhealthy gut bacteria and reducing the number of healthy ones. Recently, science has received a large amount of data that the work of the most important body systems depends on the condition of the intestines. First of all, disruption of the intestinal microbiome causes the development of irritable bowel syndrome and other digestive problems. In addition, harmful types of intestinal bacteria produce compounds that damage arteries and contribute to the development of heart diseases. Also, a violation of the healthy balance of intestinal microflora is associated with an increased risk of neurodegenerative pathologies, in particular, Parkinson's disease.
Weight gain. Foods that are cooked in a large amount of fat can cause weight gain due to their high calorie content. In particular, high consumption of trans fats, which are contained in many fried products due to the use of partially hydrogenated vegetable oils in the frying process, leads to excess weight. Animal studies show that trans fats can lead to weight gain even without excessive caloric intake.
Propensity to heart disease and stroke. The love for fried foods turns out for a person that he has an increased personal risk of heart disease and stroke. The tendency to them is explained by the effect of fried food on weight, blood pressure and cholesterol level (their indicators increase because of it). For example, studies show that potato chip lovers often develop inflammation, which contributes to the development of heart diseases. Eating fried fish often is also dangerous: eating two or more servings a week increases the risk of heart attack or stroke by 63% compared to eating once a month.
Metabolic disorders. Eating fried food 1-3 times a week increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 15%, and daily consumption (7 or more times a week) increases this risk by 55%. This effect is associated with an increase in body weight and occurs due to the growth of adipose tissue by inflammation in the body.
Pimples It is known that an increase in the number of fried products in the diet leads to the activation of skin problems. Why - it is not yet clear exactly. Some researchers suggest that such foods may affect gene expression and alter hormone levels, thereby contributing to the appearance of acne.
