The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has approved and codified the Ukrainian combat robotic complex Droid TW 12.7, armed with a machine gun, for use in the army. The agency announced this on the evening of December 9 on its official website.
As the Ministry of Defense notes, the Droid TW 12.7 has successfully been tested in combat conditions. It can move even in areas with difficult terrain thanks to tracks and hit enemies by firing a Browning 12.7 caliber machine gun. Control is carried out remotely using a tablet.
Droid TW 12.7 was developed by the Ukrainian company DevDroid, at the end of November it showed its robot to Odesa journalists from the "First City" TV channel. They noted in a comment on the DEV.ua website that the machine maintains communication with the operator thanks to LTE and Starlink.
The manufacturers say that their robot was the first in Ukraine to receive a module with a Browning machine gun codified according to NATO standards. It has a stock of 300 bullets, and it aims with the help of an optical-electronic system with a thermal imager, so it will find the enemy even in the dark of night. Droid TW 12.7 can operate at a distance of up to 15 km from the operator.
The cost of one robotic complex ranges from $26 to $000. The term of delivery to units of the Defense Forces is up to 29 days.
