Compared to last year, the average salary of Ukrainians increased by 4 thousand hryvnias, or by 22,3%, to 21 hryvnias. However, almost half of the increase is "eaten" by inflation.
Volodymyr Landa, economist of the Center for Economic Strategy (CES), stated this on the air of Ukrainian Radio.
"This 22% is nominal growth. Let's subtract inflation from here. The official rate of inflation is 9,7%", - says the specialist.
The expert added that the growth of the Ukrainian economy is slowing down. In October, it was only slightly more than 1%, while in the first part of the year the increase was more significant.
"In the first 10 months, the growth of the economy is 4,2%", — says Volodymyr Landa.
Among the main factors that lead to an increase in wages is the labor shortage. The latter forces employers to offer more favorable working conditions.
