Details
When choosing an avocado, do not buy a very large one, because the tastiest fruit is considered to be the one weighing no more than 200 g. It is better to take a pear-shaped fruit, no longer than 10 centimeters. A fresh avocado should have a large, thick stone. To check whether the fruit is ripe, it is enough to take it in your hand and press it with your fingers.
Finger marks in the form of a dent should remain on the avocado, but the skin should not be damaged. When the peel does not withstand pressure, the avocado will be overripe and may be dark inside.
If a dent does not form, then the fruit is green, but you can buy it and wait a few days for the avocado to ripen at home. You can buy a hard green avocado, and at home put it in a bag with apples or bananas, so it will reach and be soft in 2-3 days.
There is another way to check the ripeness of an avocado. You need to shake the fruit, the stone inside may knock. This means that the fruit has ripened well, and the stone will separate easily from the pulp. Also, when choosing, pay attention to the avocado stalk. It should not be dry. If the stalk is dry and brown, then you should not take the avocado, it may be rotten.
