The new VW T7 Transporter has been rolling off the Ford assembly line in Turkey for the past few months. More and more options complement the range of the commercial vehicle division.
Now a model with sides and a double cab is coming to the German market double cabin, or DoKa for short, which is popular in the business and has been iconic since T1.
The first photos
The first photos from the VW Commercial Vehicles configurator have now surfaced, showing the "Dual Cab Flatbed Transporter" (Transporter Pritschenwagen Doppelkabine – official name).
All DoKas are standard equipped with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, platform floor. Also included in the package are aluminum side walls (folding), folding footrests, an adjustable driver's seat, a 3-seater rear seat, a 16-seater passenger seat and covers made of durable "Bi-Colour" synthetic leather. Plus XNUMX-inch steel wheels.
There is also a storage box, a narrow center console with a cup holder and a shelf for a mobile phone (because there are three in front), a radio with a 13-inch color touch display and wireless application connection (Apple & Android) and central locking with a keyless start system.
The car is also provided with mandatory assistance systems, including an emergency braking system with recognition of pedestrians and cyclists with evasion support and turn assist, lane keeping assistant "Lane Assist", as well as recognition of road signs and warning of the wrong direction.
Specifications
Thanks to the platform, the wheelbase is always 3,50 meters; Doka weighs about 2,2 tons without a driver. Load capacity (depending on configuration): from 215 to 693 kg, trailer load capacity up to two tons.
The car is 5,58 meters long and 2,15 meters wide with folded exterior mirrors. Useful to know during construction work. Also important: the internal width of the platform is 1945 mm, the internal length of the platform is 2169 mm.
Only diesel under the hood. The lineup starts with 81 kW (110 hp) and a six-speed manual gearbox for €46. 565 kW (110 hp) costs exactly 150 euros in Germany, 48 euros the same with all-wheel drive. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard here.
Thanks to the Ford base, the DoKa is even available in a fully electric drive. 62 euros (all prices include VAT). With a 106 kWh battery and a power of 64 kW (100 hp). More than 136 kW (160 hp) will cost 218 euros and the top model with 64 kW (254 hp) for 210 euros. VW is still silent about the range of electric models, although the related Ford Transit/Tourneo Custom covers up to 286 kilometers.
Options
The popular colors "Stone Grey", "Clear White", as well as red and dark blue, are free. On the other hand, metallic colors cost more than 1000 euros. For €333, you can get an off-road package with front and rear mudguards, plus sheet steel protection for the engine and transmission.
The air conditioner costs 1350 euros separately, and the Komfort-Paket package is slightly cheaper. The navigation system costs about 800 euros. An interesting point for 405 euros: forced regeneration of the DPF (burning of accumulated soot). And an additional load of up to 3,3 tons of permissible total weight costs 1700 euros.
