The method proposed by a group of scientists from New Zealand and France helps to prepare pancakes with a uniform, perfectly flat surface.

The journal Physical Review Fluids talked about the work of scientific specialists in its article. After studying the movement of the dough, scientists were able to create an equation that determines its distribution in the pan when baking pancakes. The researchers came to the conclusion that the quality of pancakes during their preparation is affected by gravity, the condition of the pan walls, the temperature of its bottom, changes in the viscosity and density of the dough, as well as a number of other parameters.

As a result, experts formulated an algorithm, acting in accordance with which you can get the title of a real master of making pancakes.

So, according to the scientific approach, you need to bake perfectly even pancakes as follows:

  • pour the batter into the center of the pan,
  • tilt the pan about 10 degrees so that the dough reaches the edge,
  • rotate the pan so that the dough, moving in a circle, fills its surface,
  • level the pan and wait until the dough is fried.
