The EFI investment company plans to start the second stage project of the Feednova company in the Cherkasy region at the beginning of 2025.
This will be the second plant for the processing of livestock waste into high-protein feed additives and animal fats. The first plant was opened in Busk, Lviv Region, in June 2024.
"We have already bought the land and will either in January or February present the construction of the plant in the Cherkasy region", - the investor of the project, the founder of the EFI Group investment company Ihor Liski, told Delo.ua in an interview.
According to the investor, the first plant today already processes 150 tons of waste per day and produces proteins, meat and bone meal, fat, and plans to produce biodiesel in the future.
"And again, it is important that we return a lot of waste to the economy in a circular manner. And all this could be buried and rot in the ground. Next year, I think, we will reach the level of processing 200 tons," the businessman added.
The plant is a success, according to Lisky. He also added that the most important thing is that we "remove environmental bombs from the waste market, toxic landfills throughout the country."
"Now we have built logistics, we take this waste from poultry farms and meat processing plants. I am convinced that this is a significant contribution to our ecology. Secondly, we make money on this, and we earn currency," added the chairman of the supervisory board of EFI Group.
Investments in the second stage of production amount to $25 million, Ihor Lisky said. Over $20 million was invested in the first plant.
"We concluded a memorandum of cooperation with the Cherkasy Regional State Administration. As early as next year, we will begin the process of planning, designing and implementing the construction of a significant production complex. Yes, investments in the amount of $25 million in this region mean the creation of jobs, payment of taxes and, importantly, the highlighting of Ukrainian quality at the world level," he said on his Facebook page.
The "Fidnova" plant is an investment project of the "Effective Investments" group of companies in partnership with the Dutch company "Mada Participations BV" and the company UMG Investments.
At the same time, in an interview, Ihor Liski also talked about the new glass factory in Zhytomyr region, which should also start in 2025.
