In Ukraine, they are preparing to launch toll roads: details have appeared

The first toll roads may start operating in Ukraine in the near future, writes UNN. Serhii Derkach, the deputy head of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, said that currently six main routes are being worked out for the launch of this project.

The official explained that toll roads are a requirement of the EU, for which a corresponding draft law has already been developed. According to him, for the implementation of the project it is important to analyze the intensity of traffic, attract investors and make high-quality coverage.

Derkach emphasized that Ukraine already has agreements on this topic with the European Investment Bank. He added that the issue of the appearance of toll roads has already been resolved and will be implemented sooner or later. It is expected that such highways will be used mainly for heavy trucks, and the money received from their use will be directed to the development of road infrastructure.
