Donald Trump invited Xi Jinping to attend his inauguration
Already on January 20, 2025, the newly elected President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance will take the oath and enter their powers.
According to interlocutors, Trump sent an invitation to Xi Jinping in early November, shortly after the election, but it is not yet clear whether he accepted it.
Trump's team plans to invite other high-ranking guests to the ceremony.
"World leaders are lining up to meet with President Trump because they know he will soon return to power and restore peace through American power around the world," White House press secretary-designate Caroline Leavitt said in a statement.
Trump's entourage is known to be fiercely critical of Xi's government, including Senator Marco Rubio, whom he picked for Secretary of State, and incoming national security adviser Mike Waltz.
