Each person has his own norm for the number of hours of sleep, but on average seven to eight are needed.
A somnologist told about it. It is claimed that there are people who are short sleepers (they may need a few hours less than usual for full recovery) and long sleepers.
If a person sleeps the required number of hours, but still does not get enough sleep, he should consult a doctor, a somnologist warned.
"This is already hypersomnia - excessive sleepiness. This is not the norm. This can be the result of a wide variety of reasons, ranging from depression to, for example, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. It is necessary to consult with a doctor and decide what kind of problems these are and how to fix them," he explained.
