Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto declared his readiness to send his troops to Ukraine if the agreement to end the war involves the creation of a controlled demarcation line.
As reported by the Italian news agency Ansa, the minister expressed hope for the earliest possible "conversation of peace and peacekeeping in Ukraine", stressing Italy's readiness to play a role in this.
At the same time, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani calls such a discussion premature, since Kyiv and Moscow are still far from the negotiating table. According to him, it is necessary to achieve true peace first.
