On the Orihiv and Gulyaipil directions of the front, Russian troops are conducting reconnaissance and preparing for assault operations.
This was stated on TV by the spokesman of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, Ukrinform reports.
"The situation in the southern direction is quite difficult, because the enemy is actively conducting assault operations in the Vremivsk direction. It also does not stop activity in the Dnipro, so-called Kherson direction. The enemy is conducting reconnaissance and preparing for assaults in both the Orihiv and Gulyaipil directions." Voloshyn informed.
According to the spokesman, the enemy conducts counter-battery combat every day, shelling the positions of the Defense Forces and front-line settlements. Also deals missile strikes and drone strikes.
"If we talk about assaults, then everywhere in different directions, for example, on Vremivskyi and Prydniprovskyi, these are different assaults, but they are carried out by small groups of infantry as part of a detachment of five to 10 people. Their goal is to advance as far as possible, and then they are followed by entrenchment groups that try to hold these positions. This is the so-called infiltration tactic, when one or two people try to enter as far as possible, and rather even drive in, because they use both watercraft, for example, in the Dnieper direction, and fast light vehicles, such as: motorcycles, buggies and ATVs." - said Voloshyn.
He noted that six enemy assaults were recorded in the Dnipro direction, and about seven in the Vremiv direction. Also, the enemy tried to advance towards the settlement of Novodarivka in the direction of Vremivsk.
"On the Orihiv and Gulyaipil directions, the enemy is preparing assault operations by small groups of infantry. There is indeed a concentration of a certain number of assault groups, but these are small groups. These are small groups of infantry that take part in these assaults." - said Voloshyn.
The spokesman concluded that several dozen such assault groups are being prepared in the Orihiv and Gulyaipil directions. The occupiers are also preparing a small number of mobile armored groups.
