The Russians sent another military commander, General Oleksandr Chaiko, to command the Russian forces in Syria.

Russian troops suffer losses during the fighting in Syria. At the same time, Moscow changed the commander of the forces in Syria. This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense in Telegram.

"Against the background of losses and panicked moods of the Russian troops on the territory of Syria, the Kremlin dismissed the commander of its group in the Arab republic, General Serhiy Kissel," the message says.

The latter distinguished himself by unsuccessful actions for the Russian Federation during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, for which he was also dismissed from his post, and then sent on a Syrian mission.

Instead of Kissel, another military commander was sent to command Russian forces in Syria - General Oleksandr Chaiko, who commanded a group of Russian troops in Syria in 2017-2019.

Intelligence reports that the commander of the Russian Navy, Admiral Oleksandr Moiseyev, also appeared at the naval base in the city of Tartus.
