The offensive in Syria began at an extremely unfortunate moment for Putin. He is actually in a stalemate.
The founder of "Reaktivna Poshta", a military expert, Pavlo Narozhnyi, said this, noting that the offensive in Syria, which is carried out by several groups at once, has created problems for the dictator Vladimir Putin, 24 Kanal writes.
What problems did Putin have?
As Narozhny emphasized, Russia once supported the Assad regime in the civil war in Syria. There was an opinion that in this way Putin, in particular, blocks the supply of the same gas from neighboring countries to Europe.
Due to this conflict, the export of gas through Turkey to Europe is very difficult. This plays into Putin's hands. Because Europe still buys gas from Russia. If there were deliveries from this region, the prices could be much lower, - noted Narozhny.
With the beginning of a full-scale war in Ukraine, Putin withdrew a significant part of troops and equipment from Russia. Military bases are mostly home to only aviation. And now the Russian dictator has a problem. Assad is asking Putin for help, but a huge amount of Russia's military resources are already involved in the war against Ukraine.
Conditionally, Putin cannot withdraw somewhere between 50 and 60 fighters. He will expose some part of the front, and there Ukraine will immediately launch a counteroffensive. He is now in a stalemate. Or gives up on Syria. Or abandons Ukraine, - said Narozhny.
