The protest action near the Parliament of Georgia has been going on continuously for 14 days. People who work in the public sector joined the action near the Parliament of Georgia.

“There are two reasons for our meeting: one is the current process that is happening in the country, the rejection of the application for membership until 2028. Secondly, response to forms of intimidation. We are people engaged in public service, and the purpose of our protest is to convey to the public, including those who represent our employers today, our voice that we remain faithful to the Constitution and society, we remain committed to the European course. At the same time, we call on them to stop violence against us, the use of various forms of intimidation, of which there have been a lot recently," said city hall employee Giga Sopromadze.

87 deputies of the parliament, the legitimacy of which is not recognized by the president and the opposition, supported the draft law "On Amendments to the Law on Civil Service".

The main goal of the changes is to simplify the process of reorganization so that a civil servant dismissed for any reason, including a political one, cannot return to the civil service system or at least face extreme difficulties. Appeal to the court of a person dismissed as a result of reorganization will not suspend the effect of the decision.

Experts believe that with these changes, "Georgian Dream", on the contrary, will weaken the rights of civil servants and will use laws as a punitive tool, especially after hundreds of civil servants signed statements criticizing the government's decision to postpone European integration until 2028 during pro-European speeches.
