Poland can send peacekeepers to Ukraine only under the auspices of NATO. This was stated by the speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Holovnia, Rzeczpospolita reports.
"In my opinion, Poland should first of all protect its interests in this regard. And we must ask, of course, we always ask what is good for Ukraine, but first we must always ask what is good for Poland. From the Polish point of view, and we have talked about this many times, our participation in various types of military operations in Ukraine can only take place under the auspices of NATO and within NATO structures.", - he says.
According to the speaker of the Sejm, if we consider any participation of Poland at this stage, "there is no other formula than NATO for this to happen."
"We just need a security guarantee in such situations. If this is really a mechanism that will be useful to Ukraine, that will stabilize Ukraine, that will open up new prospects for Ukraine, it should be firmly rooted in a language that Russia understands.", the politician emphasized.
Golovnya emphasized that Russia understands one language - the language of power.
"And this is where the entire Alliance should stand. Russia today, and this is another factor that appears in all these negotiations today, is in a different situation than it was a week ago. I mean the situation in Syria", - he says.
