Viktor Orban did not specify whether he made a similar offer to the owner of the Kremlin

The head of the Hungarian government claims that the president of Ukraine allegedly "rejected" his "peace initiatives" regarding the war with the Russian Federation.

Hungary allegedly offered Ukraine to establish a ceasefire and a large-scale exchange of prisoners of war for Christmas, but President Volodymyr Zelenskyi "rejected this idea." This statement was made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Wednesday, December 11, on the X social network (Twitter).

The head of the Hungarian government commented in this way on the tweet of the president of Ukraine, where Zelensky sharply reacted to the conversation of the Hungarian prime minister with the dictator of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, which took place on the same day.

Orbán claims that at the end of Hungary's presidency of the EU Council, his government seems to have made new efforts to "achieve peace".

"We proposed a Christmas truce and a large-scale exchange of prisoners. It is sad that President Zelenskyi clearly rejected and excluded this today. We did everything we could!", the Hungarian official assured.

However, Orbán never wrote whether he made such a proposal to the master of the Kremlin, and what was the latter's response to this hypothetical proposal.
