Reuters writes about this on Monday with reference to the court decision, reports Ukrinform.
"Israel has been waging war against the Palestinian militant group Hamas in the Gaza Strip for more than a year, during which Netanyahu was granted a reprieve to begin his trial. But last Thursday, the judges decided that he should start testifying," the message states.
Netanyahu, who is accused of bribery, fraud and breach of trust, is to testify three times a week - despite the war in Gaza and possible new threats related to large-scale destabilization in the Middle East region, the newspaper notes.
Before the war, Netanyahu's legal problems divided Israelis and shook Israeli politics. The Netanyahu government's attempt last year to limit the powers of the judiciary further polarized Israelis.
