The new head of the foreign policy department of the European Union, Kaya Callas, and the head of the European Council, Antonio Kosta, cannot speak about support for Ukraine on behalf of the entire bloc. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, Politico reports.

"Neither the members of the Commission nor the President of the European Council can afford to make statements on behalf of the European Union, on which the EU and the European Council have never agreed," he told reporters.

Fizo noted that he had previously conveyed this message to the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, during a telephone conversation. During the dialogue, he emphasized that his opinion on some issues differs from the opinion of the European Commission, in particular regarding sending military aid to Ukraine.

"They made statements that did not correspond to the conclusions of the European Union," added the Prime Minister of Slovakia.

Journalists recalled that Kaya Callas, Antoniou Kosta and European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Marta Kos arrived in Kyiv last weekend. Then they expressed support for Ukraine on behalf of the entire European Union.
