It is better for people over 40 to avoid refined foods with a low level of fiber, according to nutritionists.
The choice of products for breakfast affects weight, waist size and health. According to data, at the age of 40, such influence becomes especially significant. Nutritionists who spoke on its pages advised people of this age to refuse to eat a certain type of food for breakfast.
These are refined products that contain very little or almost no fiber. For example, they include baked goods and other products made from white flour, instant flakes.
"Fiber supports gut health, helps regulate blood sugar levels, and keeps you fuller longer - all of which contribute to healthy weight loss. Processed grain products that are devoid of it are a bad choice for overall health, especially if you need to lose a few kilograms," the nutritionists explained.
According to one of them, Dr. Allison Sizemore, all kinds of sweet flakes are particularly dangerous to health. Eating them leads to a jump in the level of glucose in the blood, and constant breakfasts of such products make the body resistant to insulin, prone to weight gain and the development of type 2 diabetes.
The nutritionist gave advice: if a product without fiber is used, it should be combined with a protein or a product containing fiber - this allows you to avoid sudden spikes in blood sugar.
