The flag of the Syrian rebels was raised over the Syrian embassy in Moscow

In Moscow, the flag of the rebels who overthrew the regime of President Bashar al-Assad flew over the Syrian embassy. This was reported by the Russian mass media on Monday, December 9.
It is noted that the flag was installed by representatives of the Syrian diaspora. The diplomatic representation stated that the embassy is working normally under the new flag.
The day before, employees of the diplomatic mission lowered the flag of Syria and also removed the sign with the name of the institution. The new flag is a green-white-black cloth decorated with three red stars. It was previously used by the Syrian Republic in 1932-1958. The opposition in Syria made it their own at the beginning of open opposition to the regime of Bashar al-Assad in 2011. Since that time, this flag has become a symbol of resistance — Syrian oppositionists have taken it to rallies around the world.
