The National Bank has created new commemorative coins "Neither a bullet nor a saber!", inspired by the legends of the characteristic Cossacks.
This is stated in the notification of the National Bank.
The obverse of the coin depicts a stylized figure of a military man holding a small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine. The composition symbolizes the primordial desire of the Ukrainian people to live in their own sovereign state, the NBU notes. On a matte background, enemy bullets are depicted, bouncing off military ones, "without hitting the "Ukrainian soul"".
On the reverse, there is a stylized image of a characteristic Cossack protecting a bird, a symbol of will that visually resembles a trident. The Central Bank notes that this composition reflects the connection between modern warfare and the Ukrainian spirit of Cossack times. On the matte background of the reverse, there are broken enemy sabers, "which are powerless before the indomitable love for the native land and the desire for freedom."
New commemorative coins were presented on the eve of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at a meeting with servicemen in eastern Ukraine.
