In frost, it is better to turn on the ignition and wait for about 2-3 seconds until some of the indicators on the instrument panel go out. After that, you can turn the key to start the engine. This will make it possible for the on-board computer to check the sensors and choose the best option for supplying the fuel mixture to the internal combustion engine.
On cars with a manual transmission, it is necessary to squeeze the clutch when starting. This allows you to disconnect the transmission from the engine, as a result, the starter does not have to turn the gears. Because of the frost, the oil in them will thicken, which increases the load on the starter.
Some car owners start pressing the gas pedal if the starter does not start the engine immediately. And here there is a big risk of filling the candles with fuel. The expert noted that the key should not be held in the extreme position for more than 10 seconds, and the number of attempts should not exceed four. After that, it is better to try to find out the reason. After starting the engine, there is no need to warm up the car for 15 minutes. For modern engines, 3-5 minutes is enough time.
