Lubinets answered how many Ukrainian prisoners of war were shot by the Russians in 2024

Since the beginning of 2024, Russian occupiers have executed at least 109 Ukrainian prisoners of war. These are officially confirmed cases. 

"Only in 2024 was it possible to officially confirm that the Russians shot 109 Ukrainian prisoners of war", Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, said on the air of the telethon.

At the same time, during the previous years of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, 177 cases of execution of Ukrainian defenders by the occupiers were recorded.

Let us emphasize that the killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualifies as a serious international crime.
