The leader of Iran accused the US and Israel of conspiring against Syria

The plan to seize power in Syria "was developed by the authorities of the USA and Israel", according to the spiritual leader of Iran.

The leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said on Wednesday that the seizure of power in Syria by the armed opposition was organized by the United States and Israel. This is reported by AP.

"There should be no doubt that the events in Syria were planned in command centers in the US and Israel. We have evidence of this," he said.

Khamenei specified that "one of Syria's neighboring countries also played a role, but "the main conspirators are the US and the Zionist regime."

However, the Ayatollah rejected the suggestion that the change of power in Syria has weakened the pro-Iranian "resistance front" in the region and in Iran itself.

On Tuesday, it became known that the formation of the interim Syrian government was entrusted to Muhammad Bashir, who previously headed the so-called government of national salvation. Bashir is an engineer and also has a theological education.

In addition, Syrian rebels crushed the Iranian embassy in Damascus after the fall of the government of President Bashar al-Assad.
