MagicLab, a Chinese company founded in late 2023, has introduced MagicBot humanoid robots designed to automate industrial processes, including assembly, logistics and rescue operations.
The main feature of the third generation MagicBot is its design capabilities, including 42 degrees of freedom, which allow it to perform a wide range of tasks with high precision. As the developers note, thanks to manipulators capable of imitating up to 70% of human hand gestures, robots can perform complex operations, such as lifting loads weighing up to 40 kg, sorting materials or interactive work with other robots in a team. In one of the scenarios described by MagicLab, one robot passes a container of parts to another for further processing, demonstrating the coordination of actions.
MagicBot has significant autonomy thanks to the use of energy-efficient materials and miniature high-torque servos. This allows you to work up to five hours without recharging. In addition, a complex of sensors and algorithms, which the developers call a "super sensor", provides 360-degree perception, obstacle avoidance and autonomous planning of actions. According to the MagicLab team, the robot is capable of adaptively improving its skills through semantic analysis of its environment.
Earlier demonstrations of the MagicBot showed its ability to delicately work with small objects, such as folding clothes or manipulating an egg. This was made possible thanks to multidimensional pressure sensors that allow you to manipulate even soft or slippery objects with millimeter accuracy. Intuitive control of robot movements, which is provided by this system, opens up wide opportunities for integration in various industries.
With the release of a new generation of humanoid robots, MagicLab not only competes with leading developers such as Boston Dynamics, but also sets a new standard for automated solutions focused on flexibility and precision.
