The Haishao-1 satellite weighs about 400 kg and was developed by Chinese specialists for high-resolution optical and radar observation of the Earth's surface.

Today's mission was the 33rd flight of commercial solid-fuel launch vehicles of the Kuizhou series (from China's Fast Boat), designed to cheaply and quickly launch small satellites into orbit.
