Next year, the rings of the planet - the sixth furthest from the Sun and the second largest in the Solar System after Jupiter - will disappear twice for observers from Earth.
It's all about the inclination of the gas giant: it will turn in such a way that our planet will be in the same plane with the rings. Therefore, they will be invisible even to the most powerful optical telescope of the Earth.
According to the scientific director of the Ka-Dar observatory, Stas Korotky, the "disappearance of the rings" is expected on March 23 and November 26.
