US President-elect Donald Trump is considering the possibility of nominating Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to replace Pete Hegsett, previously nominated for the position of the head of the US Department of Defense. This is reported by the Wall Street Journal with reference to knowledgeable sources.
"President-elect Donald Trump is eyeing the nomination of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as a possible replacement for Pete Hagseth, who he picked to be Pentagon chief," the Wall Street Journal reported.
According to the publication, Trump is considering another cabinet reshuffle, as both Republican senators and Democratic congressmen are dissatisfied with Hegset's candidacy. The nomination of TV presenter and ex-military Pete Hegsett to the post of US Secretary of Defense surprised the American authorities.
