The draft law on digital currency, which is being prepared in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and the National Bank, will be ready in the first quarter of 2025. There is a high probability of its approval.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, on Vechir.LIVE.
"I think we will get it in the first quarter of next year. And, if God allows us to be deputies, then we will pass it, because there is support for this draft law.", - he says.
The chairman of the committee emphasized that there will be no benefits for cryptocurrency. It is planned that its taxation will be carried out according to a principle similar to the taxation of securities.
Getmantsev himself noted that he does not use cryptocurrencies, but supports transparency and regulation in this area.
It will be recalled that the value of Bitcoin exceeded the $100 mark for the first time in history. Its historic rise came amid hopes of support for the crypto market by the new administration of Donald Trump.
