This was stated by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller on Monday in Washington, Ukrinform's own correspondent reports.
"Today, it is extremely important that the Syrian people choose the path for the advancement of their country. The United States is committed to working with the Syrian people as they determine the path to a brighter future," the State Department representative emphasized.
Miller noted that US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs John Bass and Middle East Assistant Barbara Leaf are currently in the region and are already conducting consultations with key partners. Meanwhile, Secretary of State Blinken will "continue to engage with regional players" over the coming days.
"The United States will continue to support Syria's neighbors, including Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Israel, should any threats arise from Syrian territory during this transition period," Miller said.
He also assured that the United States will continue the mission against ISIS and will protect its own forces from any threats.
