Politico reports this with reference to the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM), Ukrinform reports.
The operation included "dozens" of airstrikes on more than 75 targets, including ISIS militants and camps. B-52 bombers, F-15 fighter jets and A-10 attack aircraft were involved in the operation, the US command said in a statement.
"There should be no doubt - we will not allow ISIS to recover and take advantage of the current situation in Syria. All organizations in Syria should know that we will hold them accountable if they cooperate with or support ISIS in any way,” said CENTCOM spokesman Gen. Eric Kurilla.
US troops are in the north and east of the country, hundreds of kilometers from the site of recent fighting where the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group pushed President Bashar al-Assad's forces out of the main city of Aleppo and captured the Syrian capital Damascus on Saturday.
