A walk by 12-year-old Daphne Filsteiner in the suburbs of Tel Aviv led to a unique discovery: the girl accidentally found an ancient artifact - an amulet over 3500 years old. The find was an important indication of the presence of Egyptian culture in the region and the possible integration of Egyptian symbols into local traditions.

The amulet was found near the archaeological site of Tell Qana, when the girl drew attention to a stone in the shape of a scarab. As Daphne notes, her intuition told her that this thing was special, despite her mother's initial skepticism. At home, after searching the Internet, the family turned to the Israel Antiquities Authority, where the authenticity of the artifact was confirmed.

The artifact comes from the period of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt (XVI-XI centuries BC) and has the shape of a sacred scarab. On its surface are symbols related to the goddess Serket, who was the patroness of pregnant women, as well as the hieroglyph "nefer", which means "kindness" or "chosenness". These details suggest that the amulet may have belonged to a person of high status or was part of a ritual.

The artifact confirms the influence of Egyptian culture beyond its borders. Scarab amulets had not only ritual significance, but also indicated the political and cultural expansion of Egypt into other regions. This discovery adds new details to the understanding of historical relationships between ancient civilizations.

The amulet is now on display at the National Archeology Campus of Israel in Jerusalem. Thanks to the responsibility of Dafna and her family, the find received a proper evaluation, and the girl herself was awarded a certificate of a good citizen.

This story demonstrates that even accidental finds can significantly change the perception of the past when examined by experts.
